perl

Compiling. Its part of the job at times. A surprising part, and few and far between, but yes, it still happens. You know what I do even less of? Compiling perl modules. Which means, Every. Single. Time. I stare at the files in the sparce extracted directory wondering, "What the hell?"

# perl Makefile.PL <-- I NEED TO REMEMBER THIS VERY SIMPLE COMMAND

Perl isn't a complied language; it's interpreted.

Not that I know what that means (not being a programmer myself), but the perl modules I needed installed were written (at least in part) using C, so required compiling.

*shrug*

ALWAYS NICE TO HEAR FROM A PROGRAMMER :D
