Smakdown/guy time

*laugh* Ho wow.

Sounds fun... :-( I wanna come!!!

Guy stuff is always more fun then this shit girls come up with for their "girl parties" I mean seriously who the hell wants to sit around, gossiping about who's husband or boyfriend is better in bed, exchanging sex secrets and advice to the others, while putting on make up and jewelry, and spending money that our husbands or boyfriends made/gave to us to spend... blah. It really wouldn't be to bad, sept I HATE makeup and jewelry. :-P I don't mind the jewelry as much as the make up, and I love talking about sex, but blah-ness!! I would much rather play video games, drink booze, eat steak, chicken etc... while talking about sex... and do it with guys! I dislike girls in general, and just all around prefer guys as my friends. :-)

Re: Smakdown/guy time

Well then - we'll be sure to put you on the next SMAKDOWN invite list... whenever it comes around next.

It will be in Dallas (or in or around thereof), and we usually crash at the house of the host of the party.

But if playing games, smoking cigars, drinking cognac and grilling all sorts of food is your bag baby, then we'll invite you along. :)

Re: Smakdown/guy time

I've moved from cognac to single malt whisky. I'll bring the bottle ;)

Re: Smakdown/guy time

Dude, without rainbows in the sky... I love you. Not eros, not agape, but bona fide philia love in all its splendor!

Cigars, single malt whisky (the Gaelic version, I hope), true friends, and gaming.

Y'know, we need to do a better job at AV procedures. I suppose the thought is, well - somebody will bring a camera/camcorder, so I'll leave mine at home.

NO! I say! NO! We should all bring our camera, we should all take pictures at various moments, then when the festivities are over - everybody makes a pact to upload and share whatever they've got on their camera. I can take splendid photos, and occasionally shoot small bouts of video. So, I'll bring my camera for the next SMAKDOWN, but I also want to see some lights flickering and flashing from other people joining in and taking pictures for posterity

Re: Smakdown/guy time

*laugh*

Honestly? If I did something like that, it would be my luck I would fuck all the guys who would allow it after I got snockered. I got this... meh never mind. I get whacky when I'm drunk. Tomas calls me rude names, but... this one has a bit of truth. (Blow Job Bonnie)

So... before coming I would have to be REALLY sure I knew the people who would be there.

However, in theory, it sounds awesome-tastic.

Re: Smakdown/guy time

That almost happened to me the first weekend I was here! Scared me of course being married and all...but everyone thought it had happened until we set them straight.

5-liters of weizen in a six-hour period is a funny thing.

Re: Smakdown/guy time

We are safe men. We would make sure you would not regret waking up in the morning... or afternoon, or whenever.

Some guys are not married, so my name is Paul, and that's between y'all!

Re: Smakdown/guy time

Married men perfecting their performance! Ha! That's too funny. :)

Regarding My name is Paul, and that's between y'all!, this is a quote form the movie "Pulp Fiction."

There are many many of us here who incorporate movie quotes into our dialog responses. The things is - to respond with another quote from either the same movie - or another that fits in line with the previously said quote. It's a kind of intellectual/trivial humor that gives the dialogs and responses more flavor and color.

So, in the quote I said - it was about a guy who's boss asked him to take his wife out... so she wouldn't be bored while he (the boss) was out of town on business. All his buddies kept kidding him that he was taking the boss's wife out "on a date." The guy kept saying... "dammit - it's not a date!" Then one of the guys in the conversation said My name is Paul, and that's between y'all!, basically saying... "Hey, whatever you do with the girl - that's none of my business!"

Got it now?

Re: Smakdown/guy time

*laugh* Well... Married men should be able to prefect themselves. *laugh* It depends on the marriage I suppose. Whether they have children... or other stressers outside of the normal married life stress.

Personally, hubbies gonna get it as much as he can stand, and even a bit more then that perhaps. At least for the first 4 or 5 yrs, or till we start having kids, and then, he'll still get some as much as I can put out.

The way I figure it, I'm so picky about my guys, plus I've got an over active sex drive, soooo... If I land the guy I have in mind, I'm gonna do my best to keep 'im. And... one of the constipulations to my "perfect man", is that he has a healthy drive.

Anyway --

Movie quotes: Yeah, I know how it works, I just didn't recognize it as a movie quote. :-) Sorry. Have to pay better attention next time. However, I suppose on one hand, it may be because I'm not used to you quoting, where-as I'm used to Howton, Tomas and Goot quoting. *shrug*

I'm slow but I'll catch on. :-)

Quote make sense?: Yup. :-) Thanks.

Re: Smakdown/guy time

Well now, good for you... on all accounts.

I just hope your man is still alive after you get through with him. You know, even the best of us need some time to recover. :)

Yeah, I quote lots of things... famous people, infamous people, people of wisdom, people without wisdom (or any clue at all), The Bible, books (good, bad, and otherwise), movies, and just about anything that can generate something worth quoting.

As you said yourself - I like quoting from Sun Tzu. I do, because he has many words of wisdom that help not only in their context - war, but also in just everyday life. Which some do consider to be "war." For some of us, on some days, it's a battle just to walk out the front door. :)

I'll leave you with one of my most favorite quotes. It's more like a mantra instead of a quote... just because of its purpose. It's called "The Litany Agaist Fear." It comes from the science fiction book "Dune." Without getting too deep - basically in the society within the book, there is a sisterhood known as the Bene Gesserit. You can look up "Dune" and the sisterhood on Wikipedia. It's actually got a really good overview of the entire series and explanation of the setting, characters, technology, etc.

Anyway, the Bene Gesserit are called "witches" because through specialized training of the body and mind, they possess powerful mechanisms to control others through direct manipulation or control themselves in tims of crisis.

So, in times of panic - they call upon the "Litany Against Fear" to calm their nerves and strengthen their powers. I like it because it itself is quite powerful just as it is. I use it quite often, and it does bring a sense of calm.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I shall remain.

-- Litany Against Fear
