Re: Knowledge

Anybody pushing you to get into school - you can count as a *good* friend.

We know the consequences of not having an education, or not getting one sooner when it was easier to do.

You've got wit and brains. These attributes easily transfer over into the realm of studying.

Get into school. You will thank us all for it later down the road. I can promise you that. And I never make promises that I know that I cannot keep.

Re: Knowledge

Yeah. I know. :-)

Right now? Trying to get into the Medic program. But if I don't get in, I will go back to the Community College I just got out of, and take Math and other all around general help classes.

Re: Knowledge

Just do something. I am of the opinion that college is always your best course. I took an EMT course in college - it was a 5 hour class and I made an 'A'. I could have easily went further and studied more paramedic type courses... but this was way back when I was in the army. I was just trying to study and get some basic classes done to get my AS degree. At the time I was in the army, if I went to college, they paid for 80% of the tuition. Not bad... I took 4 classes while I was in the army. They've all been a great help today because they transfered into my degree plan at my junior college... and I just graduated this semester with my AS degree! I am so happy. :)

Re: Knowledge

Yes! Thank you very much. You know I have enough hours for damn near a masters degree. But 45 hours are in Russian language, culture, social studies, etc. The rest of the hours are too computer specific to be of of any use (except for all of my electives are done) for my goal of getting a B.S. degree in Biochemistry.

But if I wanted a degree in Computer Science - I could probably get it in about 2 - 3 semesters, as opposed to the degree I'm seeking which will take me at least another 6 - 8 semesters to finish.

Maybe if I was younger (and not seriously injured) and had more energy - I could take 16-18 college hours at once and be done pretty quick. But if I take more than 12 - 14 hours... I'm extremely wasted and pretty useless. So by the time the next semester starts - I'm going to be crappy.

Therefore, with my ruptured disks taking their toll on my body by depleting my energy source as I fight off pain... I'm only good for about 8 - 9 hours at a time per semester. It's slow, but if I do remember the famous fable correctly - the tortoise did win the race. :)

So, if I see that rabbit getting too close, I'll kill it and grill it and tell everybody it's chicken. They'll never know... and they'll swear it's the best damn chicken they've ever tasted. Mmmmm.... rabbit tastes good.

Thanks for the congrats. I like hearing it. Best of all... I like that it's done! Now I can go on to the university - they will transfer the AS degree core as their own core, so I won't have to waste any time taking any more lower level courses. I'll be playing in the big leagues now!

That sir, is the funniest thing I've heard all week.

Re: Knowledge

Your compliments - I absolutely adore.

One accolade from you, is worth 1000 from somebody else.

I'm so very glad to bring some humor to shine and bring you a good chuckle into your life.

You know, you are a difficult man to compete with using humor and wit. For you - it's like a natural extension of your everyday self. For me to be creative, witty, humorous, and charming - I wouldn't go so far to say it actually takes me a degree of work or effot (for I too have a built in sense of wit & humor), but it does take more cerebral power to punch out something witty and humorous to the crowd... and you (and our other brothers) are always my primary targets.

So - for many times over again. Thank you very much for your enjoyment of my singular wit! :)

Much abliged, my dear friend. Much abliged. :)

Changing the topic for just a moment, let me please ask you to keep me informed as best as you can via email with your plans of getting settled in. Yes, yes -- I know you are so very busy and the time of yours is filled thoroughly... but if you have a nanosecond or two - please keep me in the loop as to how progress is going.

Again, much abliged.

Take care in your moving. And just so that you know - I have a large, well built truck (I'm a true Texas of course) and if you need assistance during your move. As you know, I can be a perfect driver - but alas my physical ailments limit my regulated help to that of just a driver, and that's about all I can do.

But - I know when moving, trucks and drivers are always a good thing to have. So please - do call upon me if you should require my services. I am at your command, dear friend.

The same for our brother drax0r. Please pass this information along to him too... so if he needs help, I will be more than happy to do all that I can... with personal service and of course with the use of my moving equipment. :)
