Re: Goatee's

*shrug* all in all it doesnt matter I suppose, at the time I posted that comment it just hit me that almost all the guys Eric's age seem to have beards or goatee's.

Perhaps it's just part of our generation. Like hippies wore long hair and beards. Technical geeks wear goatees.

Maybe there is a generational connection - maybe there is not.

I wear mine for comfort... that's all I can say.

Re: Goatee's

:-) Yup yup.

I have noticed that "geeks" tend to talk the same thats for sure. *giggle* But it's all good. It's just making sure that I continue to stretch myself and broaden my mental horizons. :-)

Re: Goatee's

I also wear the goatee because my wife likes it. I've shaved it off for her to see... and she definitely prefers me to wear the goatee. Which, is quite strange, because all her life - she swore she would NEVER marry a man who wore a beard. She thought they were disgusting.

But then... she found out that they have, uhm, other uses besides just appearance.

She also likes me to wear glasses. I tried contacts for a while, but she begged me to wear glasses again. She said that without the glasses - my countenance resembles a type of Russian mafia thug. I'm serious. She said that with my glasses - I look like just a big strong man who is an intellectual. Without my glasses - I look like evil incarnate. She says when my eyes are not hidden behind the glasses - the dark green stands out and she says it looks like my eyes radiate with some kind of an evil green glow... and I just look mean as hell. With my glasses, I look cute and sweet. :)

So - that's what I do. I like the goatee... which is good because my wife insists that I wear it. I like glasses better than contacts, because with contacts, I *constantly* have to carry around a bottle of liquid eye drops because my eyes are constantly dry while I'm wearing contacts. Plus - if the wind blows beyond 2-3 miles per hour - I can feel every little piece of dust in the air as they fly into my eyes.

So - I put up with wearing glasses. I don't mind, and again - my wife insists that I wear glasses.

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Because if Mama's ain't happy, there ain't NOBODY who is happy. :)

Re: Goatee's

It's those steely rat-eyes of yours that creep me out. Those glasses provide the appearance of normalcy.

Re: Goatee's

Are they really that bad? No wonder people treat me differently when I wear contacts. People don't talk to me and just seem to get the hell out of my way.

When I wear glasses - they either ignore me, or they treat me like a harmless geek.

Any suggestions for a happy medium?

Re: Goatee's

Yes. When wearing contacts, stop grinning like the Cheshire cats. It gives people the heebie-jeebies.

Re: Goatee's

You mean - something like this:

Imagine those eyes without glasses!

Re: Goatee's

You're as handsome, sir, as your wife is beautiful. I'm proud to call you, "friend."

Re: Goatee's

That was an unexpected surprise... why thank you very much! How wonderful to hear such compliments. Let's go tell Lena and she what she says.

Lena says: "Very flattered, thank you. That's what what happiness will do with a man - make him crazy (in a good way)! He does look rather surprised and I think it's because he just got married (this was a photo of us in Las Vegas) and he is just so terribly happy to once again be married. He's not quite himself when he is alone... he looks gloomy and he becomes very gloomy. I can't leave him alone for too long - he gets too lonely (and not the good kind of crazy) without me. Which is just what a woman wants from her man. And with me - he's JUST CRAZY HAPPY! And he's crazy about me - which makes a woman very happy. I've never had a man who has loved me so much! And that makes a woman crazy - to have a man love her completely."

Well - that's it. I just typed her words as she said spoke them in random thoughts. I may have added some text here and there to present the thoughts into proper and complete sentences... but it was her essence of thought that was written down... not my own.

Once again. I was trying to show myself in a not so good way - trying to show how those eyes make me look crazy. And then there you go and ruin it with a perfectly well thought and gentlemanly compliment. :) But what can I do, my friend - except say "Thank you, and you indeed sir, are a wonderful friend."
