In two notably unexpected moves, I installed Opera on my laptop (as I needed a secondary browser and didn't want to use IE) and got falling-down drunk Monday night at drax0r's. We ended up crossing a recently razed cornfield approximately three-quarters of a mile across. Very rough terrain. Oddly enough, I quite literally leapt up the next morning, made my way home, showered and dressed, and didn't miss a beat at work. I was surprisingly not hungover after half a bottle of Maker's Mark. Generally, when I'm drinking socially, I limit myself to one an hour so as to be able to react to anything which may arise. Apparently Monday, I was NOT drinking socially.
Opera (so far) appears to be playing well. Its quick, and has some nifty features, but it displays just like IE, so other than being more secure, I really don't see the point.
Slapped some third-party SIIG USB card into my Sun Ultra10 in hopes of setting up Amarok to rip CDs and manipulate the iPod and boy was I surprised when...it worked! dmesg reveals:

The boy woke me up at 0515 because of lighting. I couldn't go back to sleep, so I went to work.
I had a gorgeous breakfast of eggs, hash browns, biscuit & gravy - all topped generously with Tabasco's chiptole sauce. Fantastic! For giggles, I washed it all down with my first Monster in over a week. Oh yeah, I'll be unstoppable today. Un-fscking-stoppable!
Last night, serving penance for missing my boy's Cub Scout meeting (and, subsequently drax0r's boy's trip to the "Anna Circus") we spent nearly three hours with the kids first at the park in the next city North of us (Van Alstyne), then at the Burger King playland...I won't ever be eating at Burger King again. Most of their food tasted like it was made with petroleum products. That aside, it was a fantastic time, and I wish I could spend more evenings like that with my kids.
I wore my kufi, keffiyeh, agal and thawb
to show that all middle-easterners were not terrorists.
That turned out to be not well-reasoned in Texas.
