Happy Veteran's Day!

The people of Anna sure know how to give honor where honor is due. I just hope that I become half as influential as you are for some respectable purpose.

I was never in Scouts. Crosses to bear. At least your son wants to be with you. And thank God for moder conveniences and cigars!

28GB memory upgrade on a Sun V490.
I wished I had a box that had 28 GB of memory. I could really accomplish some tasks with that.

having just downed a Java Monster
I thought you swore off of those.

I never thought I'd be one of those old men who got all weepy-eyed when the flag passed by in the parade
A few things here. First of all, exhibit A:

You ARE an old man. Secondly, you are, whether you want to admit it or not, one of the most Romantic people I know. Why you don't write a kids book or do Books on CDs is beyond me, but your calling is storytelling and helping people. The trouble is you just happen to be damned good at Unix too.

was angry that all these young school children were extolling something in which so many people had died
Why did this make you angry? If it hadn't of been for the men and women that stepped up to the call of duty in times past, we wouldn't have the ever-shrinking freedoms that we posses now. To me, Veteran's Day is about honoring those who took a stand for justice and liberty for all, not lauding some hothead that wanted to go kill as many people as he could.

We each got a piece of cake.
Nice.

P.S. You look more like you came out of Nam then you do Elvis in that picture.

Happy Veteran's Day!
Thank you, sir.

The people of Anna sure know how to give honor where honor is due.
Indubiously! It was really a team effort.

I just hope that I become half as influential as you are for some respectable purpose.
Maybe when you're really old, like 38.

I could really accomplish some tasks with that.
Anything you could accomplish with a box with 28GB of RAM, you can do on YOUR box, but at a lesser scale. Since you are currently doing NOTHING with your box, I hardly see where 28GB of RAM would assist you in that endeavor.

I thought you swore off of those.
I thought I was going to get to drink coffee every morning and not sleep in a tent, on a cot, during a cool and wet overnight. Funny how these things sometimes happen.

You ARE an old man.
So...in sixteen years you're going to be old? Dude, that just sucks to be you!

If it hadn't of been for the men and women that stepped up to the call of duty in times past, we wouldn't have the ever-shrinking freedoms that we posses now.
Fucking brilliant. Did you come up with that on your own? That's why I called it a double-edged sword.

Indubiously!
It sounds like they know how to party too. Guess I'll find out in two and a half weeks.

Maybe when you're really old, like 38.
I'll be dead by then.

Anything you could accomplish with a box with 28GB of RAM, you can do on YOUR box, but at a lesser scale.
If by lesser you mean wanting to swallow my own tongue sure.

Since you are currently doing NOTHING with your box
HOW THE FUCK WOULD YOU KNOW? Furthermore, what do you do with your box?

Funny how these things sometimes happen.
I'm not sure that "funny" would be the word that I would use.

So...in sixteen years you're going to be old?
No, I'll be ancient!

Dude, that just sucks to be you!
I've been telling you this for years.

Did you come up with that on your own?
The word and thought was mine, but no I'm not the first on the planet to think or say that.

Guess I'll find out in two and a half weeks.
Guess so. But seeing how I'm hosting this party with the 30+ crowd, who to you appear as geriatrics, I'm sure you'll show us old guys a thing or two.

I'll be dead by then.
I thought you said you'd be ancient?

If by lesser you mean wanting to swallow my own tongue sure.
Allow me to rephrase. What do you think you could do, that you can't now?

HOW THE FUCK WOULD YOU KNOW?

I'm not sure that "funny" would be the word that I would use.
Oh, I agree - but I'm not about to get all emo and curse God for my own weaknesses. I choose just to laugh about it and go on. It accomplishes far more.

No, I'll be ancient!
I thought you said you'd be dead?

The word and thought was mine,
Keep telling yourself that.

I'm sure you'll show us old guys a thing or two.
You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

I'm sure you'll show us old guys a thing or two.
If I live that long.

What do you think you could do, that you can't now?
Multitasking like the world has never seen.

Let's try
darkvoyager.com. *blink* *blink* *blink* *blink* SHIT. Besides, just because a box doesn't run a website doesn't mean that it isn't being utilized. I purchased a domain name so that I wouldn't have to remember an IP address, not so that I could put up a website.

I choose just to laugh about it and go on.
Laughing at something does not equate to that thing being funny.

I thought you said you'd be dead?
I'll probably be hit by a parked car or something.

Keep telling yourself that.
You arrogant little prick! I say something nice in observation and you criticize me for making the observation because it wasn't de novo. I have an idea for you: everytime you post an un-original thought, I'll give you shit about it.

I taught you old foogies how to drink, didn't I?

I must agree, you are quite the storyteller you know.

I don't see it, but I'm glad there's people out there like you who think so.

BTW...I hear through the grapevine that you're thinking of attending the party? AWESOME!

I don't see how you don't see it.

Amy should come to the party on the condition that you write a book if she does.

I find talent in other's writing far more often than I see it in my own. That's exactly how.
irulan_amy at 2007-11-14 05:43 (UTC) (Link)
I really am. I've found tickets for around $250 and it's a once in a lifetime sort of experience. I'd love to meet all you guys. :D

That would be neat. I've talked to a handful of people who are very excited at that prospect, and who are asking me daily which side of the fence you're on at any given moment. Namely, the regulars.

We should force Howton to write a book or something. Maybe you could use this idea as a negotiation point for coming to the party and gracing us with your presence.
