Our "Create Your Own" quesadilla dinner with drax0r and jesskd26 was probably the best grilled quesadilla's I've had since Saint Louis. There was so much food, in fact, that we also invited our next door neighbor onthetrails and his wife. He helped drax0r and I pound down over a case of Heineken Light in preparation for the rest of the evening, as non-drinkers at glodowg's house, so our respective spouses could tie one on. It was with great forethought that drax0r arrived with two 32oz. Monster brand drinks. The B.F.C. oil can. Thanks for all the RAM!

Since dismantling the system in the garage after the December 1, 2007 party and redeploying the PowerMac G4 to my children's common area this weekend (my boy loves having his own playlist and is already adept at navigating iTunes) I was without music in the garage again. Undaunted, I attached an external drive to drax0r's iBook and moved my Logitech speakers from my primary system to the garage and voilà - back in business!

Alas, the repetition and familiarity of the December 1st Playlist became burdensome, and under the suggestion of drax0r, we turned to Digitally Imported's Goa-Psy Trance playlist. It was so very awesome we simultaneously had the epiphany that we should've just tuned in to that during the party instead of bothering with a playlist. Then the wives brought us back down to reality. Fair to say, they don't care for Techno.

My folks were in Dallas today and were able to spend the afternoon with us - it was a great visit in which I had an excuse to grill quesadilla's for lunch and drink mojitos. I think we finally wiped out the rest of the ingredients. By far, my wife's homemade pico de gallo was the biggest hit. My father brought with him $800 of baked goods that my wife distributed to friends throughout the city, setting aside a healthy portion for ourselves. After that we didn't do much, but when they left I felt...lost without purpose, so we finished up Serenity and the four of us retired to different areas of the house, doing our own thing for the rest of the evening. I thumbed through the Official Visual Companion of Serenity, a Christmas gift from jesskd26, and "talked" to schpydurx via AIM through snapper521 while he rudely watched House, MD. Strangely, he has no time to post.

In a more personal vein, my Bengal, Niobe has been missing a week now. There was a lot of coyote activity in the area last week, as the weather was changing, and I fear her lost. Regardless of this, I still call for her every evening, and still leave the garage door cracked for her. She's gone MIA before, only to return without explanation, but its getting so cold at night these days, I worry. I'll do the only thing I can do, and keep calling her every evening, in hopes that one day, she comes back.

My kids have MLK off, and my wife doesn't have to get out of bed early to prepare them for school, and I really should be in bed myself, but I'm vacillating between getting a great night's sleep, and working on all the little computer projects that I never seem to get around to.

Poor Niobe. I hope she's okay and that she comes back soon. :(

And, um, when did schpydurx and snapper521 finally hook up? Did I miss something (and, by this, I actually mean "why does no one tell me any good gossip, goddammit?!")?

"Finally" is a good word to use. Alas, they're still separated by two States. Two very...narrow States. Almost no distance at all. And he's in the most Northern point of his state, which means he's almost in the first State which separates them...

If I truly wanted someone bad enough, wouldn't be a thing in the 'verse could stop me from going to her.

I've dreamed twice now that my Niobe has returned to me, and it makes it all the worse when I awake and she's not there.

Thank you ma'am. At least I still have my Daisy, my constant companion. But she's getting so long in the tooth...

Speaking of RAM. Did you leave the PC2100 at my house? Also, did you want any of the other stuff MR got out?

Sorry about the kitty. That is so sad, we had a kitty disappear one time, we looked for her for ages. I still feel guilty, because I was the one who put her out that evening.

Tell catttitude that DD is still singing "Do you know the muffin woman...." Hysterical I tell you!

I've got at least six sticks of PC2100, but when my mother showed up yesterday it occurred to me she may be running PC2700. That being the case, do you want some sticks back if I can't use them?

And its hard to blame anyone for the disappearance of Niobe. She always longed to roam freely outside, and as the most vocal cat we've ever had - we didn't try to keep her in. She was a free spirit.

Music in the garage. Ah, to have a place to freely exercise the freedom to consume premium, hand-rolled cigars!

The only song I distinctly remember from the December 1, 2007 playlist is Candyman.

"talked" to schpydurx via AIM through snapper521 while he rudely watched House, MD.
I was at the store grocery shopping when that conversation began. It wasn't rude. Besides, I have a much stronger commitment to House M. D. then I do to snapper521.

Strangely, he has no time to post.
It's called research! I am studying what House M. D. got right so I can apply those lessons to my future projects.

And that commitment will certainly not strengthen with pulic comments such as this.

Are we talking about your "film making" or what the character got right? I have an answer for both :)

Thank you. My wife thinks she's been snatched, on account of how attractive she is, and being Bengal and all. She's hoping someone brings her back when they realize she can no longer breed.

Soooooo goooood. You can make those any time. Winter's here...it's time to grill!

Digitally Imported's Goa-Psy Trance playlist.

This sucked.

I thumbed through the Official Visual Companion of Serenity, a Christmas gift from jesskd26

It was from our whole clan, not just me :) I expect to see avatars from it.

n a more personal vein, my Bengal, Niobe has been missing a week now.

Hopefully she will come home. Stranger things have happened with these cats of ours. Az stayed gone for a good week in Dallas and showed up home again. I shall keep my fingers crossed.

This statement is so very true.

This sucked.
Its a mystery why it took drax0r and I so long to think of it!

I expect to see avatars from it.
I don't want to destroy the spine. It's FANTASTIC having the entire script at my fingertips though - I LOVE IT! Stuff in there not on IMDB. It rocks the hardest!

I shall keep my fingers crossed.
Thank you ma'am.

Sounds like you had a very enjoyable weekend!

So sorry to hear Niobe might be lost forever! I can't even imagine if it were one of my kitties.
Hopefully she'll yet be there one morning waiting for you to let her in the house! *fingers crossed*

Oh no, I really hope that Niobe turns up. :/

$800 of baked goods, I am trying to create a mental image of the massive amounts of food that must be and I can't do it.

Mmm...grilled quesadillas.

You know, you are quite lucky to live in a neighborhood that you can grill out and have neighbors over. I lived in one like that, and I and my boyfriend at the time kept to ourselves. I regret that in a small way...

I'll try not to be cross with her if she does.

Its beyond comprehension.

Mmm...grilled quesadillas.
I can't eat them any other way anymore.

I regret that in a small way...
As with most things, its a two-edged sword.

Dude, I just really want to apologize to you for my part with respect to the war zone that this post seems to have become. None of my comments are meant to reflect on you except for my deep respect for the amount of patience that you have shown myself and schpydurx.

At least I can admit that I was acting incorrectly and appreciate it.

I Need A Smoke

Well, I made it through to the other side. For all that was said really there was nothing new. Mostly amplifications of existing trends of late.

Certainly schpydurx was the festering pustule of hatred and malcontent that I have come to know him to be.

Wow, that was some thread. good grief.

I was adding tags to old posts and ran across this post about Tom authored April 2006. It was one of my greatest successes, and also one of my greatest defeats.

Its entitled, Twelfth Night and, following its namesake, is about mistaken identity. Unlike the play, however, I was actually able to create such a realistic parallel reality, that the person being played was unable to distinguish between the two.

I hope I haven't misstepped here in bringing this out, but reading it brought me great joy this morning, and if I can bring that joy to others, then my day shall be complete.

Thank you.

Food party: *smiles* Sometimes I think you should be a food critic on the side. Always finding something yummy to eat/try/critique. And you almost always write about it anyway... :-)

Yummy beer... :-D I like Heineken. Like fruity flavored Smirnoff a bit better, but as far as normal unflavored beer goes... yum. :-D

Playlist: Somehow... the idea that you would become bored after only a bit longer then a month... does not come as a big surprise to me.

It also doesn't surprise me to find out your son, like his father, is a music lover and enjoys having his own play list. :-D I would have actually been quite surprised to hear he didn't enjoy music.

My were in Dallas today Your what were in Dallas today?? In-laws? Friends? *confused*

Missing feline: I also am missing a cat. However mine has been gone for a lot longer then yours, and I am certain that mine is not coming back.

His name was Garfield, and he was a stray that I brought home from Church because it was getting cold/snowy and no one wanted him. At that time I still didn't like cats... he changed my mind. I tend to believe that he was a lot older than I first believed, and/or that being on his own as a stray took a lot more out of him then I realized. However - he stuck around long enough to impregnate my siamese... and when she gave birth, there was one orange kitten who looks and acts exactly like his father. So as far as I'm conserned... I'm alright with Garfield's passing. I would have been alright with it anyway... because I had several other cats besides him anyway. *shrug*

Anyway - I'm sorry to hear your's is missing. :-( I hope he/she comes home soon.

I have heard tales of cats fighting off the coyotes so... I tend to be a bit skeptical of your cat being killed or anything by them. *shrug* Then again perhaps I'm wrong.

:-)

Sleep is a much sought after thing... something which many of us don't get enough of. :-P Go sleep. ;-) You'll just be recharging for those months when you get next to none. :-)

And Sir schpydurx, you now have your script and you can make a movie about people blogging. We have such personal emotion. It wont take much equipment, it can be a story of different life's and opinions.
