Which is why I admire you so much: for having the patience to deal with schpydurx and yet still remain fond of him. You're a generous soul, unlike some of us who fall into the "active disdain" category.

You seek a label to find your identity. We all know you do not disdain me as much as you might let on; you're not that cold-hearted.

I must disabuse you of this foolish notion: I do, in fact, disdain you utterly. Your appalling behaviour, your rude treatment of others, your complete inability to comprehend even the simplest of statements - none of these are fetching, "cute", or charming in any way. They're merely irksome - and, even worse, tedious.

But I have little interest in arguing with you further on the matter. I have said my piece, and it shall remain unembroidered.

You say you disdain me and yet you can't get enough of me, and I know why: deep down inside, you know I'm a nice guy with a big heart because I'm not the cold-hearted son-of-a-bitch that I purport to be.

She explained quite clearly why she finds you so amusing. There is no way around it, your constant social floundering, attention mongering, pissing on everybody's interests but your own and just general ass attitude is indeed as entertaining as a train wreck.

You seem to be under the misimpression that it is cold-hearted to disdain an obnoxious idiot manchild with the sexual politics of a nine-year-old whom has been given every opportunity to behave like a human being and doesn't. It isn't. It is the proper attitude to take with somebody who unapologetically runs hot and cold upon others, who can't be relied upon to be at least civil for any length of time, and who doesn't know how to tell when somebody isn't flirting with them (which crosses the line from being annoying into the realm of really creepy, by the way).

You say that deep down you're some kind of wonderful teddy bear. Well, that doesn't really mean jack; you're either nice or you're not. That 'gruff exterior masking a heart of gold' shit only works in movies. And even there, it's passé.

Manchild. When I finished laughing (because that's just funny as hell) I realized that what followed backed up your claim. An eloquent and impressive thesis, sir!

Modified. Old icon with dull, ire-invoking background removed for reasons of transparency (revealing now poor sub-pixel auto-selection)...

But I'm glad you like it, that means I'm heading the right direction with this change ;)

The edges still come up a teensy bit too sharp, and there's a bit of a border around him. Perhaps you could run the blur tool over the edges just to smooth it out?

I had to do redo his hair with a 1-pixel pencil, up my magic selection tool to a tolerance of 55, and retrace his shoulders manually after a blur, but I have to admit, he looks much better.

Thanks!

(although, admittedly, I got a new LCD monitor recently, which makes stuff look a lot more sharper - I haven't quite gotten used to it yet)

Don't you just love it? If you recall, I recently traded my 22" NEC for a widescreen LCD. It does indeed take some getting use to. I feel I've lost a lot of real estate, but the clarity makes me feel like a recovered alcoholic.
