Why is it cheaper for a moped vs. a motorcycle?

Price and mileage. The one I'm looking at is under two-thousand dollars and gets 70 miles to the gallon. I figure it will pay for itself in ten months, and comes with a one-year warranty, parts & labor. Based on those figures, I haven't even bothered to check insurance rates on motorcycles, but my insurer will add the scooter for $300 annually.

So you don't even know what the TCO for a motorcycle is?

Correct as far as specific dollar amount.

You should check before putting down money for your moped - I know some motorcycles get very impressive mileage.

That they do. I long for the day I can own one.

The only thing that had been keeping me from one was the wife, but since she committed adultery and left me I guess I have no excuses now. Do I?

Doesn't sound like it.
