While my Treadmill Computer was working out great for me, my wife was growing increasingly annoyed with it. She was always stepping over it to get to her side, it was noisy when she was at her desk, and let's face it, unsightly. The Beautiful setup I'd crafted, replete with zip-tied wires was rent apart creating a tangled mess. So, I cleaned everything up and moved out the treadmill. But what to do? Two hours daily on a treadmill is not an engaging activity. Being a woman of action (as well as great beauty, but I digress) she bought a LCD television with a built-in DVD player and had me mount it on the wall. A week later (and with a little ingenuity from mr_dowg) I mounted my Logitech x230's on the wall, and zip-tied the cords together. All I require now is a tall plant of the like to cover the cables, and I'm done. We moved our weights and weight bench in there as well. So...for the past several weeks, I've been spending between one and two hours a day on the treadmill four to five times a week, working weights every other day.

I was ready for a hair cut, but I wanted a flattop - and a flattop on me right now makes me look pear-like, so I wanted to wait until I was getting visible results before I greatly altered my appearance. So I got it cut yesterday, which means while I'm still pear shaped, at least I'm a D'Anjou, rather than a Bartlett. Across from work they just opened up something called a 'Sport Clips.' Its staffed by beautiful women and appears to pander to male clientele. Though I wasn't aware of such a thing, they are the official barber of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and though I didn't have my card with me, I do carry a Mastercard with the VFW seal on it and with that discount was able to get my haircut and beard trimmed for the amazingly low price of $12.80. And because I got my hair cut, I'll now have to have it attended to every now and then. I'll be back. And its within walking distance of Chiptole ;)

In any case, I'm going to get down to my Air Force weight to prove to my wife that it can be done - and honestly, I've never had any greater motivation than to prove her wrong. I like to eat - this is no surprise to anyone, which is why dieting or portion control is beyond my comprehension; I'm a man of excesses in everything I do (reference hair, above) but I've found that exercise is something I'm *actually* capable of in the comfort of my own home.

And I have yet to receive any new music, though according to the three sources from which I've ordered them all, they have already 'shipped' including one I ordered simply because lehah told me to do so. So far, he's only instructed me to get something three times, the other two being Terminal Velocity and the remastered Heavy Metal both of which were solid recommendations. So I ordered sight-unseen (or unheard, as the case may be) the 3-CD set 'Naked Spur' which sold out today...after mine shipped. Thanks dude.

And despite the fact that my Succubus was an underachieving post (though I did get some good conversation with galinda822 out of it) I have another Magnus Opus I will attempt to put up this weekend along the same vein.

In your succubus post, I just realised that you failed to mention my favourite succubus of all. *points to icon*

And we await your new magnum opus with interest! Er, can we have pictures of naked men this time? ;)

Ma'am, it'll be a veritable sausage-fest when I unleash Incubus upon the unsuspecting masses. Alas, that one is not due until later this month.

I second this vote!

Well if this keeps up I'm going to have to post my Incubus post next. Sheesh!

Also, uniqueblog gave me permission to use one of his in the Incubus post!

I can't believe you cut it off! This makes those ponytail pics more memorable. :)

I enjoyed your Succubus post and am all atitter waiting for your Magnus Opus this weekend.

Thank you ma'am. I'm hoping that the benefits of our schedules will allow such overlap as to enjoy each others fruits of labor this weekend.

Good luck with the exercise, I need to do the same.

Thanks dude. I haven't exercised like this since I left the service. Now I crave it. Its been three weeks and I wish I could do more. There's simply not enough hours in the day.

Really? I desperately need to get back into working out again. I've been using school as an excuse really...

You should have made a POLL of the pictures!

I vote #2. I like a man with a buzz!
ehowton at 2008-07-18 18:28 (UTC) (Link)
It would take me just over a year to grow the ponytail back if no one liked my buzz. I just don't think I could take that kind of rejection.

I like the haircut. I vote #2 too, but we all know whose vote matters the most.

Good luck with the exercise. There are other benefits besides lost pounds.

Yeah...about that, I'm hoping to get my blood pressure and cholesterol down by my next check-up :)
irulan_amy at 2008-07-18 20:30 (UTC) (Link)
Yeah, you definitely go to extremes. I really like the long hair, but the buzz cut is nice.

Now...give me a penis post already!
ehowton at 2008-07-18 21:11 (UTC) (Link)
Thanks! And mr_dowg and I were just reviewing said penises for the upcoming post. I'm working on how to best frame it. I want it to be completely different from the last one.

I'm always amenable to meeting at Stonebriar Mall as well. We enjoy the odd weekend there. Not quite halfway, but close enough with something to do inbetween ;)
