Q: I like Hans Zimmer, but his synth-only scores are sometimes flat and lack orchestration. How can I add depth and fullness to what I hear?

A: The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

I first ran across them when I found The Essential Hans Zimmer Film Music Collection. I was so enamored with what they brought to the table, I actively sought out the FLAC so I could rip it at 320kbps. Then last Wednesday SAE announced THE MUSIC OF BATMAN PERFORMED BY THE CITY OF PRAGUE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA.

I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival.

1. Batman: Theme
2. Batman: Flowers & Love Theme
3. Batman: The Joker's Poem & Clown Attack
4. Batman: Up The Cathedral
5. Batman: Waltz To The Death
6. Batman: The Final Confrontation & Finale
7. Batman Returns End Titles
8. Batman Forever: Batterdamerung & Mouth To Mouth Nocturns
9. Batman & Robin: Main Titles & Fanfare
10. Batman Begins: Eptesicus
11. Dark Knight: Aggressive Expansion, The
12. Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm: The Birth Of Batman / Main Title / The Promise
13. Batman: Gotham Knight: End Credits
14. Batman: The Movie: Main Titles
15. Batman: TV Theme

When I was a kid (ok, 13) I had my mom go out and immediately purchase (alright, I cried and begged for it) the Original Score for the first Batman (1989) movie. I NEEDED it. I spent an entire week meticulously creating a Batcave in my bedroom with boxes and paper bags. Complete with Bat Signal and Bat Super Computers and even a bathroom. Mostly, I took my sister's Barbie play sets and painted what I could use flat black muahahhahah!!!!! - I think I got a high off the smell of spray paint when I was done.

Anywho, I had just acquired a Batman action figure (who lost it's virginity to my sisters Barbies LOL), thus the need for the cave. I waited 9 months via mail for that Batman figure!!! It was extremely hard to find one at the time. Freaking supply and demand! >:\ It just wouldn't have been complete without the music!

I knew every note of the score by heart playing out the movie over and over and over and over.... I miss the cave. I'm gonna go buy that score on CD. Maybe dust off my old Batman too. :D

The entire franchise is alive with fantastic music. Someday I'll stop buying it all over and over again everytime something new comes out.

Looks like something worth purchasing. Love the Bat Tie! The color on the black and white is nice. Reminds me of my TIE tie.

A tie of a tie, or TIE-fighters? 'Cause the latter sounds awesome!

TIE-Fighters, of course! I've warn it maybe 5 times.
