We launched McKinney Today last night, the online version of the new McKinney, Texas paper, along with McKinney Live! an online community forum for the people of McKinney. In a city this size, they have several forums already, most of which either suck, or are so heavily moderated that almost nothing gets published. Using the same model of success we've had with the Anna Texas Community Forum we feel we may be able to provide exactly what this city needs in what drax0r and I consider our "Second Home" as we've both worked here for the better part of a decade.

There's a lot that goes into publishing a paper. There's also a lot that goes into publishing an online paper, even when the content has already been written. drax0r and I make it look easy on the surface, but we've been working together on projects for 10-years now, and what the public doesn't see is the untold amount of time to get everything in place. Thankfully, we're at the point now where we can turn over content management to the publisher and his staff, having successfully built a seamless infrastructure.

Of course our wives are ready to start divorce proceedings against us, and we're so hopped up on MONSTER ENERGY we might not notice until we're standing in the swirling remains of our own demise...unless this great expenditure of creativity and energy bears fruit. Only time will tell, and that's a poor answer to a spousal unit. I think women would make poor investors. Unless things don't pan out, then they could say the same thing about us :/

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank glodowg for her part in this adventure as well as both cattitude and jesskd26 for their seemingly unending supply of begrudged support as we stand on the precipice of the future!

Very cool, it's always a great feeling when your job is sufficiently done that you don't need to be involved anymore...

Thanks! I need a week of sleep, and need to detox off MONSTER.

Cheers! I certainly know about the "behind the scenes" that goes into greatness. I spent 3 weeks strait, 18 hours a day on a dvd documentary for a band. Funny thing my spouse is the one who got me into that one. But once I start a project there is no stopping and no real rest until it is complete. No rest for the wicked. If I am ever in the market for a new spousal unit they must know this before hand. I will have contracts drawn!!! LOL!

My wife is a very patient, long-suffering woman underneath.

Looks awesome. Now when are you going to start letting me manage you guys? You are definitely getting taken advantage of!

We discussed that last night. We were thinking almost immediately after there is something to manage besides our time ;)

Are you getting the funds from the current ad on the McKinney website?

At what point are you going to PULL the sites if he does not ante up?

At the point it would be mutually advantageous for us to do so and in the most professional manner possible, were that to be the case. Unfortunately no one I know outside our partner is in the advertising business, so I can not speak intelligently on how soon a new paper is to be expected to garner the type of attention required as a vehicle for such.

Nice job, congratulations!

Thank you sir. For something completely different, I'm going to attempt to come into work tomorrow morning well rested.

You may not even recognize me.

Well done! Clean and easy to navigate site. I can imagine the hours of work it took(I used to date a site designer and a perfectionist one at that). I second the kudos to the ladies. I hope they had more patience than I did with such hours. ;)

I won't go so far as to say it was handled with grace & poise, but thankfully each of the womenfolk had their own extra-curricular activities which helped offset the frustration. Perhaps you've heard of Charlaine Harris? Yeah, that.
