Need one [1] socket 775 (Pentium 4) motherboard

I think the Intel motherboard is popping my power supplies - at this point it can't be anything else. I have an immediate need for an LGA [socket] 775 Pentium 4 motherboard. If you have one laying around unused, please let me know. 400W standard molex power supply a bonus, but not required.

For the price it would cost me to replace the mobo and the power supply, I'm nearly to a new barebones computer. So...if no one has one, anyone need a (OMGZ!) 3.6GHz (overclockable to 4.0GHz) Pentium 4 HyperThreaded processor? As this was glodowg's she gets first dibs.

I don't have a mother board for you.....and.....we do not need it if you end up getting rid of it, so please pass it on to someone else that might need it if it comes to that!

Will do, thanks! Also - you may want to familiarize yourself with this: http://ehowton.livejournal.com/307850.html. Missed you last weekend :(

Yeah....we were so busy that I didn't remember to come by and get those games! I am sorry about that.....perhaps I can come by this weekend??????

From what I understand, I have a Saturday opening from 1230-1730. How's your availability???

YOu can definitely count on me being there at 12:30 tomorrow! I can supply us with some beer this time, Shiner Black? Or would you prefer something else?
ehowton at 2010-01-22 21:30 (UTC) (Link)
FACT: I drank more beer the 30-days I was out of the office than the 300-days preceding it.

FACT: Since I've returned to work, I've cut back my beer consumption 99%.

FACT: I will have a 6-pack of dark, black ale at the house Saturday.

FACT: I will drink only one.

Unlike last time, when you and I killed that case of Shiner Black *whistles innocently* Bring beer only if you don't want dark ale but don't bring any for me!

WOW....I am not sure what to think about you not drinking much beer while I am there, lol.

I will just drink 1 or maybe 2 of the dark ales that you have there, that will be plenty for me!

BTW......I would LOVE to have a avatar like your neon one!

The color of your neon was inspired by MONSTER.

I'm going to try one more time to put that 3.6GHz into catttitude's box (as well as another full gigabyte of RAM I found for a total of 3GB) so maybe all won't be lost.

Bring your laptop just in case?

Can you say, "Smackdown?"

The first thing I'd do with that awesome high end motherboard is downclock and undervoltage the living shit out of it to get its power consumption into a reasonable range. My machines run 24/7 at home, and I want them to consume as little power as possible when running. Right now, I'm pretty sure that my nvidia integrated graphics chipset is the biggest energy consumer in my system. I had hoped to keep the whole thing below about 50 watts, and with these WDC green drives I think I'm pretty close.

You're much more disciplined than I am. And our goals differ. I purposely bought the processor with a discernibly immeasurable 200MHz "jump" despite the fact it had an incomprehensible +15 wattage requirement, required a special motherboard to handle that wattage increase, and cost more! 200MHz!

I avoid WDC's "green" drives not because I hate the environment, but because I demand a minimum rotational platter speed of 7200 per minute for performance. I also turn off all processor "speed stepping" from the mainboard for the same reason (as an aside those also greatly affect vm time clocks).

But I do admire your 50 watts. My wife doesn't know it yet, but the EMC CX400 I'm planning to put in my office pulls 2 kW, which will greatly increase our power consumption both draw (because it'll be on the 110) and cooling, but I have my reasons for doing so. Another one of my *crossed fingers* calculated risks I'll never need to fall back on.

As it turns out, I bought my daughter a barebones which I'll populate using her existing parts, hopefully put the (OMGZ!) 3.6GHz proc in my wife's computer, toss the mobo, and I've found a home for the proc that comes out of her box. Win/Win ;)
