There and Back Again - Record Snow Fall

The extreme snowfall of February 11-12, 2010 goes down as THE snowiest 24-hour period in the history DFW weather records, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). An amazing 12.5" was measured, 11.2" of which fell on the 11th.

I only live about a half-mile from the Expressway which goes into Dallas, but it took me nearly two minutes to get there, as I was driving a paltry 25mph - and nearly two minutes to get back.

I've been meaning to post a drive to the highway and back for nearly three years. I wanted my first post of this to be during the Spring, when its gorgeous beyond words, but this snowscape will suffice for now:

Here's a picture of our cat in snow as a distraction!

this has been one crazy winter :)

Snow looks beautiful. *___* And the cat.

Although I won't wish for snow here. It would probably mark the start of the end of the world.

I had a year of snow once: Six months in Korea followed by six months in Nebraska. That was a tough year. And don't even get me started on Saint Louis.

"Great" video! There were no keg stands, no topless co-eds running for their lives from ego-maniacal killers with momma issues, and fewer shots to the groin than my home has had burglary free days. Fail sir, major fail!

But there was snow!

Love that scenic drive. So very pretty.

And also? My next cat - going to be a Maine Coon. :)

Ain't it just? And sadly, Squeegie's no Maine Coon, she's just an undersized Daisy look-a-like :(

He is exactly like you in every way. Except one eighth your size.

Beautiful. Not crazy about the soundtrack. Something from the Hoth battle would've been sweet. Some randomly placed AT ATs would have rocked.

I like the way you think. In my defense, they flagged my first choice, so I went with a free alternative.

Was your cat doing that things where it shakes its paws after each step? I love it when mine do that. I laugh cruelly and take full credit for organising the cold, white stuff just to irritate them.

Nice video! I couldn't put up the sound unfortunately.

I got bonus points because she's not an outdoor cat ;)
