Leaping Over Tall Buildings in a Single Bound

I was being pursued. By what or whom I do not know, only that I was terrified. It was dusk out, and night was falling quickly, but what little light was left was being filtered by the dark storm clouds overhead. I was in a grassy clearing with a forest treeline close by, and an enormous grey stone circular tower with battlements atop, reaching hundreds of feet in the air.

My attackers were close now, and running across that field I jumped into the air and cleared the tower in a single bound! Hovering on the other side of the tower I looked down at my pursuers, dressed in black samurai armor - they were confused, having lost me. My smugness caused me to start to slowly descend to the point I was reacquired by those intent on doing me harm.

When I landed they were close, and I began running - running and leaping, attempting to gain height again. I would float for a bit, a few feet above the surface, but not enough. I could hear them swinging their swords at me and missing. Frustrated and scared, I put all my concentration into my jump, and leapt straight up. soaring out of harm's way!

The way we respond to anxiety and pressure in real life is typically manifested as a chase dream. Often in these dream scenarios, you are being pursued by some attacker who wants to hurt or possibly kill you. You may be running away, hiding, or trying to outwit your pursuer. Chase dreams may represent your way of coping with with fears, stress, or various situations in your waking life. If you don't know who the person chasing you is, this may stand for certain unpalatable aspects of your personality which have been repressed but which are now forcing you to deal with them. Alternatively, your unconscious may be reflecting on your feelings of powerlessness in regard to a difficult situation in your waking life. Do you feel as if you are caught between a rock and a hard place?

If you are fighting an unknown enemy in your dream, this may represent a struggle with the shadow side of your nature and the unwelcome aspects of your personality. For example, there might be a battle between your moral code and your sexual desire, or between your intellect and your emotional needs.

Swords are often wielded to subdue evil forces, representing triumph of good over evil.

Gray clouds.
