Remember when the lead singer of Oingo Boingo started composing film score and it turned out to be actually really good? No one ever expects that. That's why I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome when George Clinton started composing film score - because, you know, funk.

michelle1963 had just finished The 4400 on Netflix and recommended it to me as something to consider in the evenings as I am very occasionally wont to do; I fell in love right away with the score, but couldn't find proof anywhere it had ever been recorded (nor covered by my favorite Sci-Fi re-recorder, Joohyun Park).

I was also shocked to discover George S. Clinton was white...followed immediately with the dawning comprehension that composer George S. Clinton wasn't funk musician George Clinton.

All these years.

Too funny!

I agree, the score in Netflix is particularly wonderful. Lovely haunting minors.

As a veteran score uncoverer, I did finally find what I was looking for by navigating directly to the composers own home page - yay!

I'll have to look for the soundtrack, but admittedly I am disappointed that it's not P-Funk George. ';)

IKR? Part of what reinforced my misstep was Austin Powers which admittedly fits the bill + Quincy Jones? C'mon, its a mistake anyone could make...right?

I also assumed the George Clinton that did the Austin Powers theme was the Parliament Funkadelic George Clinton. I'm disappointed to discover that it isn't honestly.

Your comment got me thinking - when your books hit it big in pop culture and you get your first movie deal, you must insist George Clinton write the score. Its a win/win! YOU TWO SHALL MAKE HISTORY TOGETHER!
