Boy came home with a puffy, bloodshot eye - said it had been hurting him all day and that it was sensitive to light. I pried it open and as soon as I saw it, realized the problem fell far outside my expertise, so off to the clinic we went.
The doctor at the clinic was able to remove the dark spot - a speck of rust as it turns out - but the speck had already started to rust the eye itself - that halo you see surrounding it. So he patched him pirate-style, and made an appointment for us to see the eye doctor to have the rust ground off his cornea with a freaking corneal grinding wheel.
My son, resigned, asked, "Why does this stuff always happen to me?"
