i long ago have abandoned flickr - i suppose it could be used as backup storage, but i don't trust them to return to me the same pixels as i give them. i've moved on to ipernity. they are a lovely community. but again, more for sharing photos, i don't use it as backup. need real photo backup - i'd pay for cloud storage. although another option is to use snapfish. they have unlimited storage. (to download your own photos back to your computer you get a zip file, but you can do 50 photos at a time.) it's not very user friendly for browsing, but you can make albums and put tags, and it does show you your photos info.

uh oh, i just started talking about something regarding photography and just kept going. don't even know if my info has much of anything to do with your storage needs. sooorry.

i am 'raingirl' on ipernity, if you want to see. lots of ex-flickrites there and groups to prove it.

it's slower moving than flickr, but i like it that way.
