Tell us... just why do the Brits hate the Frogs... and vice-versa. What's the deal?

Anglo-French relations describes relations between the governments of France and the United Kingdom (UK). The designation "anglo" specifically refers to England, not the UK, however, modern intergovernmental relations between these two nations are habitually called Anglo-French relations, and understood to refer to the UK and not England. The term Franco-British relations is also used.

France and the UK (and prior to the formation of the UK, Great Britain, Scotland and England) have had a long and varied history together from the Norman Conquest up to the present day, with a previous period between Offa of Mercia and Charlemagne and earlier transchannel relations (microlithic, Celtic and Roman) before their countries existed.

As of 2006 relations are cordial and cooperative, although there is still an edge of wariness on both sides, due both to historic differences and to more recent disagreements between the current leaders of the two countries, French President Jacques Chirac and British Prime Minister Tony Blair. (Queen Elizabeth II is the head of state of the UK, but government relations with France are headed by the prime minister)

I know their history...

I need something a "little" more specific regarding Brit/Frog relations. Tell me what did the British officers say about/to the Frenchy officer, and vice-versa. And why. Did they argue about anything real?

Or are you just simply telling me that the people from both worlds hate each other just because it's tradition? Generations of children growing up not liking the other just because their parents felt that way?

Please don't tell me their feud is that ridiculous.

Aren't alot of feuds over things that ridiculous? Besides, what one person finds ridiculous another takes very seriously. It's all perspective!

Perspective, 'spective, what's your objective...

What an Anglofile you are, you left out Wales.

The English hate the the Welsh, Irish and Scots.

I actually lifted that verbatim from Wikipedia.

Aren't the definitions on Wikipedia submitted by complete morons?
ehowton at 2006-07-31 12:40 (UTC) (Link)
Not necessarily. They are user-contributed, so, for example, someone with a degree in History from a prestigious Texas university might be better suited to edit entries they come across in their field of study if they find them lacking.

The French and the English have almost a 1000 year disagreement over who is gayer.
