I love it - it's great!
I remember you telling me how you aren't creative - I no longer believe it!

I'm sure photogoot will get a good laugh out of it.
You're a great friend for realizing he needs one right now!

Well thank you! We took something like 150 pictures of the two of us sitting on that bench. I was looking for a way to utilize the less interesting ones, and decided they could tell a pretty good story if done in this format. The only problem I have with it, is I think it could be funnier, somehow. I dunno, this was my first attempt at it, and it was quite a bit of work just lining up the images for use and resizing them. The more I read it, the funnier it gets, so maybe its just me. I just love all the different facial expressions.

He is without question on of the most creative people I know, and I would have said that befor seeing his work here today.

Haha, this is very funny - very clever!

The facial expressions are so right for each talk bubble. :D

Thanks! From inception to finished product was actually pretty tough because of storyline over expressions - though I admit, it is the expressions. My friend is so overwhelmingly visually expressive it makes for a fun time whenever we're together.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, & brilliant! You sir are a creative genius.

I'm so glad you like it!

Two "OLD" men?? Fat ok, but old....speak for yourself! :-)

"Two Men 14 Years Older Than When They First Met and Aging Gracefully" wouldn't fit in the title area.

I’ll let it slide then

*Laughs* Ah, I love it! How'd you do that?
ehowton at 2006-10-31 01:03 (UTC) (Link)
Thanks! It was done using 150+ photos photogoot took of us in DC, and a thirty-day trial of Comic Life for Mac.

Here is a link to some of the images from that trip.

I'm commenting on this blindly, i.e. I haven't read any of the comments on this post. I will do so after leaving this comment.

First of all, your avatar for this post is simply amazing. I have never nor could ever imagine you as a long haired hippy. I didn't think you were old enough.

That having been said, I think your commic is great. Were the pictures taken with your commic in mind, or was that a bonus after the fact?

How did you achieve your look? What filter(s) are you using to get a uniform fel and style? How long did it take you to make the speech bubbles and how long did the entire project take? I am curious dear sir.

Oh, (this is an inside comment and I probably should address this issue elsewhere) but if you plan on posting a comics, in my opinion, you can post a comic and a text/voice post in one day and it wouldn't be "double posting", especially since LJ doesn't have a featured content that is based on prop and comment volume. Just my two cents worth.

First of all, I'm not old enough to be a hippy. I was, however in the military following a very strict religious upbringing in which my hair could not exceed military length. Shortly after I left the military, my wife suggested that I grow a beard - just to see if I liked it, you understand, as I'd never had one. Additionally, she suggested I let my hair grow just to see if I would like that. It was shortly after this picture she suggested that I then cut my hair. All three were great suggestions.

The pictures were NOT taken with a comic in mind, but I used the forum as a means to display 150 pictures that were taken which might not otherwise have been displayed.

All the images were hand-balanced in Photoshop, and the application "Comic Life" was used to create the finished project. From start to finish, the first page took me a couple of hours.

I am so not worried about prop & comment volume. This is not why I post sir.
